ARCHITECT@WORK Kortrijk, a ‘must-visit’ for (interior) architects

Publication date: 16.04.2025

One event no (interior) architect should miss is ARCHITECT@WORK Kortrijk. On Thursday 15 and Friday 16 May, this biennial professional event for specifiers returns for its twelfth edition in halls 4 and 5 of Kortrijk Xpo. Why is this event worth adding to your calendar?

Exhibitor product innovations

First and foremost, there’s the offering of nearly 300 exhibitors. This carefully curated selection aligns closely with this year’s theme, “Thoughtful Tomorrow”, and showcases product innovations that have been carefully selected by a panel of experts. In other words, the event provides a unique overview of the very best and latest that the market has to offer in 2025.

The specially designed event layout features uniform booths, complemented by numerous lounge areas. Here, you can exchange ideas in an informal setting – with complimentary food and drinks – with fellow (interior) architects and technical advisors from the exhibiting companies.

Seminar programme and side events

As in previous editions, great attention has been paid to developing both a comprehensive seminar programme and accompanying side activities.

Across both days, visitors can attend a varied programme of ten lectures, featuring key national and international speakers. The A@W ACADEMY, organised around the general theme, explores current and future challenges in the fields of architecture and construction. Topics include innovative and circular building solutions, the shift from sustainable to regenerative construction, and how technology can support (interior) architects in responding to societal changes. A few notable international speakers include Lucy Tilley (Adjaye Associates) and Dominic Wood (Studio Tim Fu). Visit our brand-new website for a full list of speakers and seminar topics.

One side activity you won’t want to miss is MATERIATEK – Belgium’s largest independent materials library – presenting an exhibition on bespoke materials. But there’s much more to see! Architectuur Kortrijk pays tribute to local architecture in a photo exhibition, Designregio Kortrijk looks to the future of architecture with innovative models by four Kortrijk-based architecture studios, FEBELARCH and FEBELCEM jointly present innovative applications for precast concrete, and Living Lab Leemsteen (UHasselt) demonstrates how claystone can contribute to more sustainable construction. Other highlights include artworks by Maarten Schaubroeck and Bram Lattré, a selection of professional literature by Boekenhuis Theoria, and the presentation of the CIT N1 table bench – a tribute to Niels Haelewyn (Geert Haelewyn Architectenbureau BV), who passed away in 2023.
